About

Kenichi Kitahama is a pioneering roboticist whose work has fundamentally advanced the ability of robots to perceive and interact with cluttered, unstructured environments. His primary research areas span computer vision, dexterous manipulation, and motion planning for service robots. Kitahama’s most influential contribution, published in 2005, introduced a groundbreaking framework for image-based object recognition and dexterous hand/arm motion planning using Rapidly-exploring Random Trees (RRTs).
