Chuande Liu’s research focuses on the intersection of robotics, perception, and safety in human–robot collaboration, with particular emphasis on mobile manipulation and inspection robotics. His most cited work, “An omnidirectional 3D sensor with line laser scanning” (33 citations), introduced a novel sensing approach that enables robots to perceive their environment in three dimensions, a foundational contribution to autonomous navigation and manipulation.
