About
Zhongqiang Wang is a leading researcher in bio-inspired optoelectronics and neuromorphic devices, with a focus on developing intelligent systems that mimic human sensory and cognitive functions. His major contributions include the creation of self-powered, broadband opto-sensors with bionic visual adaptation, enabling artificial visual systems to autonomously adjust to changing light conditions—a critical step toward efficient bionic robots. His work on multilayer γ-InSe flakes has garnered 74 citations, highlighting its impact. Wang also pioneered optoelectronic memristors that integrate bimodal sensing, memory, and processing, inspired by the human nervous system, and has developed self-powered artificial tactile perception systems with self-protection functionality using tellurene threshold switching memristors. These innovations, though recently published, are already attracting attention (9 and 5 citations, respectively). Wang’s research addresses key challenges in reducing complexity and power consumption for next-generation AI hardware, positioning him as a rising star in neuromorphic engineering and intelligent robotics.
