About
Yamei Yue is a pioneering researcher in bioinspired soft robotics, with a focus on integrating sensing, actuation, and signal transmission into fully flexible systems. Her work addresses a critical challenge in the field: replacing rigid electronic components with soft, multifunctional materials that can operate in harsh environments. Yue’s most-cited paper (2021, 75 citations) introduces a soft robot that combines shape-deforming and sensing capabilities, drawing inspiration from biological systems. She has also developed magnetostimulative composites using NdFeB/Ecoflex that enable considerable shrinkability, and high-sensitivity magnetoelectric sensors for tactile sensing and obstacle avoidance (2022, 23 citations).
