About
Wendi Duan is a pioneering researcher at the intersection of micro/nanorobotics and advanced materials, whose work is redefining how we engineer active matter at small scales. Her primary research areas include liquid metal micro/nanomotors, biomimetic colloidal assembly, and intelligent functional materials for targeted manufacturing. Duan’s most notable contribution is the development of phoretic liquid metal micro/nanomotors as intelligent fillers for targeted microwelding—a breakthrough that harnesses the unique electrical conductivity and biocompatibility of liquid metals to create self-propelling microdevices capable of precise, on-demand material joining.
