Timothy Norton is an instrumental figure in observational astronomy, specializing in wide-field optical design and high-speed instrumentation for the detection of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs). His career is defined by two major contributions: the commissioning of the MMT’s f/5 wide-field focus and the development of the TAOS II survey.
