Shuxin Wei is a materials scientist and polymer chemist whose research sits at the exciting intersection of bioinspired engineering, soft robotics, and fluorescent materials. Drawing inspiration from nature's most sophisticated organisms — octopuses, chameleons, and other color-morphing creatures — Wei has pioneered the development of smart polymeric hydrogel actuators capable of simultaneously controlling shape, color, and luminescence in response to environmental stimuli.
