Shota Kubo is a pioneering researcher in the field of passive-dynamic robotics, with a primary focus on bipedal locomotion and the mechanics of legged machines. His major contributions lie in the experimental realization of passive-dynamic running (PDR)—a gait that includes a flight phase—in unactuated, kneed bipedal robots.
