Shay Zayontz is an orthopedic biomechanics researcher whose work has made significant contributions to our understanding of knee joint mechanics, ligament function, and total knee arthroplasty. Specializing in in vitro experimental biomechanics, Zayontz has extensively investigated the complex interplay between knee kinematics, ligament integrity, and joint contact pressures under simulated physiologic muscle loads. Among Zayontz's most impactful contributions is pioneering research into the biomechanical consequences of posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) deficiency and reconstruction, with studies accumulating over 300 combined citations.
