About
S. Brignac is a pioneer in the development of high-throughput biological assays and laboratory automation, with a career deeply rooted in the genomic revolution. Brignac’s most significant contribution is the invention of a high-throughput microarray-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), detailed in a seminal 1999 paper that has garnered 328 citations. This work introduced a novel biochip design—an optically flat glass plate with 96 wells defined by a hydrophobic Teflon mask—enabling multiplexed, parallel immunoassays.
