Rafael C. B. Sampaio is a researcher in aerial robotics, specializing in the design, control, and simulation of Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs). His work focuses on developing novel hybrid UAV concepts and advanced control evaluation methodologies. He is best known for creating the Sharky, a lightweight hybrid electric motor glider-quadrotor MAV capable of both fixed-wing flight and vertical take-off and landing (VTOL).
