About
Dr. Qinhua Guo is pioneering the next generation of electronic skin (e-skin) by merging magneto-straining and piezoresistive effects into flexible, dual-mode tactile sensors. Her key research areas span smart robotics, prosthetics, and touchless human-machine interfaces—work that has taken on heightened urgency in a post-pandemic world seeking hygienic, contact-free controls. In her landmark 2022 paper (38 citations), she introduced a textile-based sensor capable of seamlessly switching between proximity detection and pressure sensing, solving a long-standing challenge of integrating both functions in a simple, scalable fabrication.
