Mayumi Kanagawa is a structural biologist whose work has been instrumental in advancing high-throughput protein crystallography, particularly within the context of the structural genomics of the thermophilic bacterium *Thermus thermophilus* HB8. Her key research areas encompass crystallization methodology, structural genomics, and the elucidation of protein structures from extremophiles.
