About
M. Wargui’s research centers on the stability and real-time control of autonomous mobile robots operating over communication networks. His major contributions address the critical challenge of network-induced random delays—a problem that can degrade performance and destabilize closed-loop systems. Wargui derived sufficient conditions to guarantee closed-loop stability under such delays and proposed discrete-time stabilizing controllers with predictor mechanisms to mitigate their effects. He also advanced decentralized robot architectures, replacing traditional centralized designs with more reliable, distributed systems enabled by controller area networks. His work on scheduling for real-time control systems further tackled time variations in perception-decision-action loops. With his most-cited papers accumulating 14, 14, 9, 7, and 5 citations respectively, Wargui’s research has provided foundational insights into the intersection of networked control theory and mobile robotics. His studies remain relevant for engineers developing robust, delay-tolerant autonomous systems, particularly in applications where communication reliability is paramount.
