Dr. Jun Natsuki is a versatile researcher whose work bridges biomedical diagnostics and advanced materials engineering. In the biomedical arena, Dr. Natsuki made a significant contribution to cancer diagnostics by improving the automation of the lectin-antibody enzyme immunoassay for the alphafetoprotein-L3 carbohydrate chain, a critical tumor marker for liver cancer. This work, published in 2005, enhanced the detection of both AFP-L3 and total AFP using two lectins, laying groundwork for more efficient clinical screening. More recently, Dr. Natsuki has pioneered research in flexible electronics and sensor technology.
