Jun Hyeon Lim is pioneering the frontier of soft, transient electronics—creating materials and devices that are not only stretchable and biocompatible but also fully biodegradable. His core research spans biodegradable elastomers, bioresorbable implantable electronics, bio-inspired power systems, and wirelessly controlled soft robotics. Lim’s most impactful contribution is the development of ultra-stretchable and biodegradable elastomers, detailed in his 2023 paper (139 citations), which provides the rubber-like mechanical compliance necessary for next-generation wearable and implantable devices that safely dissolve after use.
