Jaehwa Lee is a prominent atmospheric scientist whose research centers on satellite-based aerosol remote sensing, long-term climate data records, and the development of retrieval algorithms for monitoring aerosol optical properties across land and ocean surfaces. Lee has made foundational contributions to the NASA Deep Blue aerosol project, helping extend critical Earth Observing System aerosol data records into the Joint Polar Satellite System era through work on VIIRS and MODIS platforms — research that has collectively garnered over 550 citations.
