About
Shu-Hua Chen is a leading figure in satellite aerosol remote sensing, whose work has been pivotal in extending the climate data record of atmospheric particles. Her primary research focuses on developing and refining retrieval algorithms to derive aerosol properties from spaceborne sensors, with a particular emphasis on the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR). Chen’s major contribution lies in overcoming the inherent limitations of AVHRR’s spectral channels to produce a near-global, multi-decadal aerosol loading dataset.
