About
Igor Paprotny is a pioneering researcher in microrobotics and MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology, whose work has fundamentally advanced our understanding of small-scale autonomous systems. He is perhaps best known for his landmark 2006 paper introducing an untethered, electrostatic, globally controllable MEMS micro-robot — a device barely 60 by 250 micrometers in size — which has accumulated over 338 citations and demonstrated that truly independent micro-scale locomotion was achievable.
