Hagen Klauk is a pioneer in the field of organic electronics, whose work has fundamentally shaped the development of flexible, large-area circuits. His research centers on the design and fabrication of organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) and their integration into complex systems. Klauk’s most celebrated contribution is his 2007 paper on "Ultralow-power organic complementary circuits," which has garnered over 1,400 citations. This work demonstrated that organic circuits could operate at extremely low voltages, a critical step toward practical, battery-powered flexible electronics. He has also made significant strides in device stability, as evidenced by his highly cited 2012 study on organic transistors with high thermal stability for medical applications (344 citations). More recently, Klauk has been a driving force behind the "Hybrid System in Foil" (HySiF) concept, which combines organic, printed, and silicon technologies on a single flexible substrate.
