About
Guinan Chen is a leading researcher in the development of advanced smart materials and flexible electronics, with a primary focus on electrothermal actuators, multifunctional sensors, and MXene-based devices. Chen’s major contributions include pioneering the fabrication of electrothermal actuators that simultaneously achieve ultrafast response speeds (within 0.1 seconds), large deformations (bending over 360°), high figure-of-merit, and low driving voltages under 1 V—a breakthrough that addresses a long-standing challenge in the field.
