About
Geunbae Lim is a pioneering force at the intersection of neural interfaces, stretchable electronics, and biomedical microdevices. His research fundamentally advances how we interface electronics with the human body, from the brain to the skin. A cornerstone of his work is the development of high-performance, bio-inspired sensors. He is best known for creating an omni-purpose stretchable strain sensor (OPSS sensor) based on a nanocracking structure, inspired by the spider sensory system, which enables whole-body motion monitoring from joint-level to subtle skin movements (116 citations). To translate these sensors into real-world applications, Lim also developed a waterproof, PDMS-shielded version, ensuring stable performance in humid environments (42 citations).
