G.V.T. Swapna is a structural biologist whose work has significantly advanced our understanding of viral pathogenesis and high-throughput protein production. Her research focuses on the structural and functional characterization of viral proteins, particularly those from influenza viruses, and on developing robust platforms for protein expression. A major contribution is her role in the Northeast Structural Genomics Consortium, where she co-developed a pioneering robotic cloning and protein production platform.
