About

G. Millesi is a pioneering surgeon and researcher at the forefront of computer-assisted and robotic maxillofacial surgery. His primary research focus is the development and clinical translation of advanced osteotomy technologies, specifically the Cold Ablation Robot-Guided Laser Osteotome (CARLO®). Millesi’s major contribution is the successful transition of this innovative robotic laser system from the laboratory bench to the operating room. He led the first-in-human application of CARLO® for midface osteotomies, demonstrating its clinical feasibility and safety. His work addresses the limitations of conventional mechanical bone-cutting tools by enabling precise, contact-free, and geometrically superior bone cuts, directly translating digital surgical plans into the operative field.
