Dr. P. Juergens is a pioneering oral and maxillofacial surgeon whose work has fundamentally reshaped bone surgery by replacing mechanical tools with laser precision. His primary research areas include laser osteotomy, robotic surgical systems, and bone healing biology. Dr. Juergens’s major contribution is the development and clinical translation of the Cold Ablation Robot-Guided Laser Osteotome (CARLO®), a system that uses an Er:YAG laser to cut bone with sub-millimeter accuracy, without thermal damage.
