Fang Gong is a leading researcher in satellite ocean color remote sensing, specializing in atmospheric correction—the critical process of removing atmospheric interference to retrieve accurate water-leaving radiance from space. Their work addresses some of the most challenging conditions for ocean color observations: high solar zenith angles, absorbing aerosols, and complex coastal waters.
