About

Eun Sun Kim is a pioneering robotic endoscopist whose work is transforming the landscape of minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery. Her primary research focuses on the development and clinical translation of robotic-assist devices for endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), a technically demanding procedure for removing early-stage GI tumors. Dr. Kim’s major contributions include the invention of a detachable assistant robot and a retractable robotic traction device that provide critical tissue tension and visibility during ESD. Her first-in-human prospective pilot study of a novel robotic arm platform for gastric neoplasms represents a landmark achievement, demonstrating augmented traction in a clinical setting.
