About

Doina Nicolae is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on aerosol remote sensing, with particular expertise in the vertical profiling of aerosol properties using combined lidar and radiometer techniques. Her most significant contribution is the development and distribution of the LIdar-Radiometer Inversion Code (LIRIC), a pioneering algorithm that simultaneously processes lidar and sun photometer data to retrieve vertical aerosol concentration profiles. This work, published in 2016 and cited 139 times, has become a cornerstone methodology within the European Aerosol Research Lidar Network (EARLINET).
