T. Lapyonok is a leading figure in atmospheric remote sensing, whose work has fundamentally advanced the retrieval of aerosol properties from combined ground-based observations. His primary research focuses on the development of sophisticated inversion algorithms that integrate lidar and sun-photometric data to characterize the vertical distribution of atmospheric aerosols.
