Dale J. Podolsky is a pioneering researcher at the intersection of pediatric surgery and surgical robotics, whose work is transforming the treatment of cleft palate—one of the most common congenital birth defects, affecting approximately 1 in 800 infants worldwide. His primary research focuses on developing miniaturized robotic instruments and realistic surgical simulators to enable minimally invasive robotic cleft palate repair in infants.
