About
Caiwang Wang is a pioneering roboticist whose work centers on bio-inspired amphibious robotics and locomotion control. His most significant contributions lie in the design and control of robots capable of seamless transition between terrestrial and aquatic environments. Wang’s landmark 2012 paper, "A salamander-like amphibious robot: System and control design" (16 citations), introduced the Chigon robot—a novel platform that achieves both crawling and swimming through an innovative mechanical structure combining four limbs with a multi-jointed body. This work established foundational principles for amphibious robot morphology.
