Bernadett Weinzierl is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on the properties, transport, and climate impacts of mineral dust and ambient aerosols. Her major contributions include pioneering work on Saharan dust, where she combined AERONET Sun photometer, Raman lidar, and airborne in situ instruments during the SAMUM 2006 campaign to characterize shape-dependent and shape-independent particle properties—studies that have garnered 98 and 93 citations, respectively. She also played a key role in the SALTRACE experiment, examining Saharan dust long-range transport over the Caribbean.
