About
Achouri Mourad is a control systems and robotics researcher whose work focuses on intelligent trajectory control, path planning, and robust stabilization for autonomous systems. His major contributions lie in the development of hybrid fuzzy-PI controllers tuned by metaheuristic optimization algorithms, applied to complex, nonlinear systems such as 2-DOF robot manipulators, wheeled mobile robots, and inverted pendulums. Mourad has pioneered the use of Human Behavior-Based Optimization (HBBO), Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA), Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO), Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), and Teaching–Learning-Based Optimization (TLBO) to fine-tune fuzzy logic controllers, significantly improving trajectory tracking accuracy and system robustness. His work on path planning using firefly algorithms and sliding mode control for mobile robots in static environments has practical implications for autonomous transportation and hazardous material handling. With several papers published between 2022 and 2024, each garnering 4–7 citations, Mourad’s research is steadily gaining recognition. Notably, his studies on the inverted pendulum—a classic benchmark for unstable dynamics—demonstrate the real-world applicability of his intelligent controllers to systems like Segways and rocket stabilizers. Mourad’s work bridges advanced optimization and practical robotics, offering efficient, adaptive solutions for modern autonomous systems.
