Peng Zan is a pioneering researcher in biomedical robotics, best known for his groundbreaking work on wireless micro-robot systems for gastrointestinal endoscopy. His most influential contribution, the 2007 paper "Micro-Robot for Endoscope Based on Wireless Power Transfer" (43 citations), introduced a novel prototype capable of autonomous locomotion through pig intestines using earthworm-like motion—a significant departure from conventional tethered endoscopes.
