About

Wireless technology refers to the transmission of data, signals, and power between devices without physical cables, using radio frequencies, electromagnetic fields, or other propagation methods. In robotics and AI, wireless systems serve as the backbone for communication between robots, sensors, controllers, and cloud infrastructure. Applications span a broad spectrum: enabling multi-robot coordination through ad-hoc mesh networks, providing localization via Wi-Fi signal strength mapping, supporting remote actuation of miniature medical robots, powering sensor nodes through wireless energy transfer, and delivering the ultra-low latency required for teleoperation and tactile internet applications. Emerging standards like 5G and the forthcoming 6G networks are particularly significant, promising high bandwidth, massive device connectivity, and millisecond-level latency that make real-time autonomous control more reliable. Wireless capability is equally critical for IoT-integrated robotics, wearable human-machine interfaces, and UAV swarms operating in GPS-denied or infrastructure-limited environments. As robotic systems grow more distributed and mobile, robust wireless connectivity becomes a fundamental enabler of autonomy, coordination, and human-robot interaction at scale.
