Dimitris Balis is a leading atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on aerosol remote sensing, atmospheric composition, and the validation of satellite and ground-based observations. His major contributions center on characterizing mineral dust transport, smoke particle morphology, and aerosol optical properties using advanced lidar and sun photometer techniques.
