Anna Gialitaki is an atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on aerosol characterization, lidar remote sensing, and the optical properties of smoke particles. Her major contributions lie in advancing our understanding of how wildfire smoke behaves in the stratosphere, particularly through the study of particle shape and depolarization. In her highly cited 2020 work, "Is the near-spherical shape the 'new black' for smoke?"
