Abstract
An intelligent wall climbing robot has been developed at Portsmouth Polytechnic. Its pneumatic drive system gives great power-to-weight ratio while the construction is based on versatile modules. With a hierarchical distributed computer controller, the system can readily be reconfigured for specijk tasks. Details of the construction and of the locomotion algorithm are given.
