Dr. Ziran Zeng is pioneering the next generation of flexible, skin-like electronics and soft robotics through innovative laser-based fabrication techniques. Her research centers on developing high-performance flexible pressure sensors and untethered magnetic soft robots, addressing critical challenges in manufacturing efficiency, cost, and functionality. In her highly cited 2023 work (24 citations), Dr. Zeng introduced a hybrid microstructure design resembling a volcano sponge, dramatically enhancing the sensitivity of flexible pressure sensors while overcoming the traditional hurdles of complex, time-consuming preparation on soft materials.
