About
Dr. Zichong Ji is a leading innovator in the field of bioelectronics and soft materials, whose work is redefining the interface between electronics and the human body. His research centers on the development of advanced stretchable conductors and wearable sensors, with a particular focus on liquid metal-based technologies. Dr. Ji’s most prominent contribution is the creation of a highly elastic, permeable liquid metal–iron fibre mat conductor, a breakthrough that overcomes the persistent challenges of poor wettability and complex fabrication in liquid metal systems. This work, published in 2025 and already garnering 8 citations, demonstrates his ability to solve critical material science problems for real-world applications in electrophysiological monitoring. By engineering conductors that are both highly conductive and mechanically robust, Dr. Ji is paving the way for next-generation wearable devices that are comfortable, durable, and recyclable. His research not only advances fundamental materials science but also holds immense promise for soft robotics and continuous health monitoring, marking him as a rising star in the field of flexible bioelectronics.
