Zhelin Liao is a rising researcher in human–robot interaction, with a focus on developing socially intelligent robots that can safely and naturally accompany, follow, and assist people. Liao’s work spans two interconnected areas: force sensing for wearable devices and control strategies for socially assistive mobile robots.
