About
Young Won Kim is a leading innovator in the field of flexible electronics and energy harvesting, with a particular focus on tactile sensors and triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs). His research masterfully bridges materials science and device engineering to create high-performance, skin-conformal systems. In his highly cited 2017 work (43 citations), Kim pioneered a novel 3D customized tactile sensor that integrates a piezoelectric nanofiber mat with sandwich-molded elastomer sheets, enabling unprecedented flexibility and conformability for wearable applications.
