Yong Yang is a materials scientist and engineer whose research spans flexible electronics, metallic glasses, and advanced functional materials. He is perhaps best known for his pioneering work on wearable pressure sensors, most notably his 2016 study introducing piezoresistive sensors based on irregular microhump structures. This work, which garnered over 230 citations, demonstrated exceptional sensitivity across a broad operating pressure range and employed finite element analysis to elucidate the underlying sensing mechanisms — opening new pathways for body motion monitoring and human-machine interfaces.
