About
Yinuo Pan is pioneering the next generation of smart e-textiles, merging advanced materials science with wearable technology. Their research centers on developing multifunctional fabrics that integrate electrical and optical energy conversion for applications in personal thermal management, human motion sensing, and actuation. A standout contribution is the creation of MXene-based fabric heaters, which leverage the unique properties of MXene nanosheets to achieve rapid electrothermal and near-infrared photothermal response. Their 2024 work on an electrical/optical dual-energy-driven MXene fabric heater has already garnered 37 citations, highlighting its significance in the field. Pan’s earlier research introduced a self-reduction method to synthesize MXene/silver composite Tencel cellulose fabrics, enabling durable, high-performance electrothermal conversion and photothermal actuation—a key step toward truly versatile smart textiles. By addressing critical challenges in flexibility and durability, Pan’s work is laying the groundwork for wearable systems that can sense, heat, and respond to environmental stimuli, with profound implications for healthcare, sportswear, and human-machine interfaces.
