About
Yinghui Guo is a pioneering researcher at the forefront of metasurface optics and computational imaging, whose work is redefining the boundaries of light manipulation and vision science. Dr. Guo’s primary research areas include vectorial optics, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) imaging, and multifunctional metasurface design. In a landmark 2024 study, Guo introduced “Vectorial Digitelligent Optics” for high-resolution NLOS imaging—a breakthrough that enables seeing objects hidden from direct view, with profound implications for robotic vision, remote sensing, and autonomous driving. This work, already garnering 26 citations, addresses a notoriously complex inverse problem without requiring ultrafast time-resolved detectors. Earlier, in 2022, Guo developed broadband, high-efficiency polymerized liquid crystal metasurfaces capable of spin-multiplexed functionalities across the visible spectrum.
