About
Wuhao Zou is a rising innovator in the field of flexible electronics and tactile sensing, with a focus on developing advanced pressure and shear force sensors for robotic and wearable applications. His major contributions center on overcoming the limitations of conventional symmetric microstructures—such as pyramids or hemispheres—which can only detect force magnitude. In his highly cited 2023 work (80 citations), Zou introduced a skin-inspired capacitive tactile sensor featuring an asymmetric structure that uniquely enables the detection of directional shear forces, a critical capability for dexterous robotic manipulation and human-machine interfaces.
