About
Vincent Vander Poorten is a leading head and neck surgeon whose work has reshaped the landscape of minimally invasive oncologic surgery, particularly through the application of transoral robotic surgery (TORS). His research centers on expanding the indications for TORS, from primary treatment to high-stakes salvage surgery for recurrent cancers in previously irradiated fields. A major contribution is his leadership in large-scale collaborative studies, including a Belgian multicenter series (38 citations) and the international RECUT cohort (29 citations), which have established TORS as a viable option for complex recurrent tumors of the upper aerodigestive tract.
