About
V. Vladimirov is a pioneering astrophysicist whose work centers on time-domain astronomy, gravitational-wave electromagnetic counterparts, and robotic telescope networks. As a key member of the MASTER Global Robotic Net team at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Vladimirov has made landmark contributions to multimessenger astrophysics. Most notably, they led the first optical detection of the LIGO/Virgo neutron star merger GW170817 (227 citations), capturing the initial image of its host galaxy and the associated kilonova—a breakthrough that opened a new window on cosmic explosions.
