Taishan Liu is a pioneering roboticist whose research focuses on bioinspired microrobotics, with key contributions in terrestrial and underwater locomotion at the insect and sub-centimeter scale. His most cited work, “S²worm: A Fast-Moving Untethered Insect-Scale Robot With 2-DoF Transmission Mechanism” (2022, 37 citations), addresses the critical challenge of achieving high maneuverability and autonomy in compact, untethered terrestrial robots.
