Sofia Karamani is a pioneering figure in space robotics, best known for leading the development of Greece’s first planetary exploration rover. Her key research areas encompass autonomous systems, robotic design for extreme environments, and space mission simulation. Karamani’s major contribution is her leadership of the student team “Beyond Robotics,” which designed and built Talos—a rover tailored for Mars simulant missions.
